GPnav – Consistent, Safe Care Navigation for General Practice
GPnav is a web-based platform built by a GP practice to bring consistency, structure, and safety to care navigation at the first point of contact.
It provides reception and care navigation teams with clinically approved workflows, designed by their own practice, ensuring patients are directed to the right service, first time.
From April 2026, the GP contract places a clear expectation on practices to determine urgency at first contact, provide timely responses, and ensure clinically urgent patients are managed the same day. Practices will also be expected to evidence this through data and reporting.
GPnav directly supports these requirements by giving practices a structured, auditable approach to managing demand.
GPnav helps practices:
Standardise care navigation across all staff
Identify and prioritise clinically urgent patients consistently
Evidence decision-making and urgency at first contact
Support same-day access requirements for urgent need
Improve patient flow and access across the practice
Use real-time data to understand demand, gaps, and capacity
Unlike traditional approaches, GPnav removes reliance on memory or individual judgement. It provides a clear, repeatable process that supports staff and protects patients.
Developed by a GP Practice, GPnav is already supporting practices and PCNs across England and Wales.
If you want a practical way to meet the demands of the 2026/27 GP contract while improving how your practice runs day-to-day, GPnav delivers it.
