HidraWear is the world's first and only wound dressing system designed specifically for Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) — a chronic, painful skin condition characterised by recurring lesions in the armpits, groin, and buttocks. Developed by Galway-based MedTech company HidraMed Solutions, and founded by CEO Suzanne Moloney — herself an HS patient and advocate — HidraWear was born out of a clear gap in care: conventional dressings are designed for flat or convex surfaces, yet HS wounds typically occur in concave, difficult-to-dress areas of the body.

The HidraWear system combines highly absorbent dressings with a patented SecureLock™ fastening technology integrated into soft, breathable, reusable garments. This eliminates the need for adhesive tape, reducing dressing-related pain, skin damage, and leakage — while enabling patients to change dressings in under 30 seconds. The garment range includes options for the armpit, groin, and buttocks, for both men and women.

Backed by clinical evidence, HidraWear has demonstrated significant improvements in patient quality of life as measured by the DLQI scoring system, and empowers patients to self-manage their wound care with confidence.
