Having the decision of whether and when to have children is fundamental to the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of women. Numerous studies have shown that the number of unintended pregnancies can decrease when there is an increased use of contraception. Women want the ability to choose when and whether they want to become pregnant; they deserve to make an informed choice that is right for them. Providing equitable access to contraception, however, is a major challenge and now an important priority, in terms of service provision.
