A session exploring the importance of how to differentiate between a common primary care pathology and a potential orthopaedic emergency.

Learning outcomes:

  • Take a concise and time-efficient history from an MSK patient in an urgent care setting, including eliciting red flags, psychosocial flags and ICE

 

  • Discuss an effective examination routine for identifying key differences between gout and a septic joint 

 

  • Learn how to have relevant conversations and explain matters effectively with your patient

 

  • Formulate a NICE approved management plan, including appropriate investigations, referral, safety net & GP follow-up
