Holly Edmundson
Starting my career as a midwife in 2008, I've been dedicated to enhancing maternal health. My journey took a pivotal turn in 2021 with my acceptance into a research internship at the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (OxBRC), where I developed key research skills and began to carve out my own niche in research. The following year, I embarked on an NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Internship, honing in on the challenges associated with managing caesarean surgical site infections. Balancing my clinical responsibilities with research, I strive to maintain a pragmatic approach, deeply rooted in the realities of healthcare provision. Since April 2024, I've joined the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, furthering my research career. Looking ahead, I'm eager to commence a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship later this year, continuing my journey to bridge the gap between clinical practice and academia in maternal health.
