Kay Keane is a Practice Manager at Urban Village Medical Practice in Manchester and Chair of The Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM). With a strong focus on operational leadership, workforce development and patient-centred care, Kay is recognised nationally for championing the role of Practice Managers within primary care. Alongside leading a busy inner-city practice, including specialist homeless healthcare services, Kay works closely with NHS organisations, professional bodies and policymakers to improve understanding of the operational realities facing general practice. She has contributed to national conversations on access, workforce sustainability, practice management professionalisation and NHS reform. Kay is passionate about creating supportive, high-performing teams and ensuring practice management voices are represented at every level of healthcare decision-making. She is also a strong advocate for professional development pathways for non-clinical leaders and has supported the growth of accredited management standards through the IGPM.
