Kuldeep Virdee is a Pharmacist Specialist at the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with over three years’ experience supporting the regulation and improvement of medicines optimisation across health and social care services. In this role, he contributes to inspections and provides expert advice on the safe, effective, and person-centred use of medicines. Kuldeep has a particular interest in the regulation of general practice, focusing on prescribing quality, medicines governance, and how primary care services manage clinical risk while enabling informed patient choice. His work involves evaluating systems for medicines safety, responding to national safety alerts, and ensuring alignment with current guidance and regulatory expectations. He is passionate about promoting proportionate, evidence-based approaches to medicines optimisation that balance clinical effectiveness with patient safety, supporting continuous improvement and high-quality care for patients and the public.
