Laura Pugh
GP, The Gold Standards Framework CIO
Dr Laura Pugh qualified in 1988 and worked as a GP for 32 years, including roles as a Partner, Clinical Director of her PCN, and a GP trainer. Her interests include health inequalities, care of vulnerable migrants, older people with multiple conditions, and palliative care. She led her practice through Gold Standards Framework (GSF) training in 2014, achieving accreditation and re-accreditation twice, and winning GSF Practice of the Year in 2019. She also supported the rollout of GSF training to over 90 practices across the former BXCCCG in 2017/18, helping to improve end of life care outcomes. Since retiring in 2024, she has continued her work as a Clinical Assistant with the Gold Standards Framework Charity, supporting improvements in care for people in their final years of life. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, long-distance walking, and DIY.
