Speakers

Roy is a GP Senior Partner with a specialist interest in diabetes and cardio-renal-metabolic (CVRM) health. He is a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Leicester Diabetes Research Centre. He holds a Master’s degree in Diabetes with distinction. Roy works at the interface of clinical practice, education and system transformation, focusing on improving outcomes and reducing health inequalities in people with diabetes and multiple long-term conditions. He contributes to postgraduate teaching on the MSc in Diabetes and is involved in curriculum design, delivery and assessment. He leads CVRM service development in primary care, working with integrated care systems to reduce therapeutic inertia and deliver more joined-up, person-centred care. Roy is a national speaker, translating evidence into practical insights for frontline clinicians. Outside work, he enjoys surfing, fitness, music, yoga and travelling in his VW camper van.
